Tutorial 2.0 on Technical Drawing 3D and Visualization
نویسندگان
چکیده
This article shows the experience of applying technologies based on web 2.0 in an environment of learning at university level. Students are more and more familiar with such tools and learning at the University should be sensitive to this evolution. This tutorial 2.0 is based on two virtual environments that support and improve communication in the teaching-learning process: Moodle as an "institutional adapted" platform, and Site Google as an open platform. The temporary planning has been done with the design of a timeline. The implementation of the tutorial 2.0 has been highly accepted by the students. With respect to the teaching staff, they need permanent updates and the adaptation of web 2.0 tools in the development of the subject’s guide. © 2013 The Author. Published by Elsevier B.V. Learning Technical Drawing with Augmented Reality and Holograms
Technical drawing is very important for mechanical engineers. The ability to understand and work with technical drawings is a necessary skill for most of them. In general, first year students of mechanical engineering have difficulties in drawing orthographic views and perspectives, since they find it difficult to understand 3D shapes from 2D views. In this paper, we present several tools that ...
متن کاملGIOTTO3D: A System for Visualizing Hierarchical Structures in 3D
The eeective visualization of hierarchical structures is an important problem in the area of advanced visual interfaces. Hierarchical structures occur in a wide variety of visualization applications, including WWW-A hierarchical structure can be formally modeled by a directed acyclic graphs (DAG), i.e., a directed graph with no directed cycles. Hence, throughout this abstract, we will use the t...
متن کاملSpatial Visualization Learning in Engineering: Traditional Methods vs. a Web-Based Tool
This study compares an interactive learning manager for graphic engineering to develop spatial vision (ILMAGE_SV) to traditional methods. ILMAGE_SV is an asynchronous web-based learning tool that allows the manipulation of objects with a 3D viewer, self-evaluation, and continuous assessment. In addition, student learning may be monitored, which saves a significant amount of time for the teacher...
متن کاملCOMAIDE: Information Visualization using Cooperative 3D Diagram Layout
COMAIDE is a toolkit for user-system cooperation through joint multi-focal graph browsing. It supports cooperative force-directed layout management, concurrent with dialogue handling, for heterogeneous multi-layered 3D interactive diagrams. The layout manager's intu-itively`natural' animations of multi-layered 3D graph drawings support: 1. Cooperative tidying of user-manipulable 3D layout; 2. O...
متن کاملIEEE Visualization 2004 Tutorial: Interactive texture-based flow visualization
Interactive texture-based flow visualization has become an active field of research in the last three or four years. Recent progress in this field has led to efficient vector field visualization methods and, in particular, to improved techniques for time-dependent data. This tutorial covers approaches for vector fields given on 2D planes, on surfaces, and within 3D volumes. Both the theoretical...
